Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr. tops the provincial board in 2011

SECOND district Board Member Salvador 'Bading' Escalante is the top performer among the members of the Provincial Board in 2011, in terms of the number of resolutions passed.


Escalante sponsored 294 ordinances and resolutions which were passed by the Provincial Board. One hundred twenty-one were sponsored by Serondo, 114 by Dino Yulo, 100 by Ibañez, 95 by Zayco, 57 by de la Cruz, 46 by Zafra, 40 by Gustilo, 42 by Lacson, 43 by Alonso, 35 by Javellana, 25 by Dino, 18 by Gitano and 10 by Rivera.


Escalante's committee on finance also topped the list, in terms of resolutions and ordinances passed which totaled 409, while Yulo's committee on laws passed 104 resolutions and ordinances.


In 2011, the Provincial Board passed a total of 1,000 resolutions, eight ordinances, 14 appropriation ordinances and three tax ordinances.


Board members who registered perfect attendance were Nehemias dela Cruz, Escalante, Miller Serondo, Jose Benito Alonso, Melvin Ibañez, Pedro Zayco, Helen Zafra and George Gitano.


Youth Council representative Thea Mae Dino registered three absences.


Vice Governor Genaro Alvarez also logged a perfect attendance record, while Board Member Manuel Frederick 'Manman' Ko of the third district registered the highest number of absences.


In 2011, the Provincial Board conducted 47 sessions, some which were held at the different towns and cities in the province.


Board Member Raul Rivera, who represents the Philippine Councilor's League (PCL)-Negros at the Provincial Board, was the most travelled, followed by Dino and Serrondo.
