Mayor Salvador G. Escalante Jr. is launching the first-ever “Star Ka Sa Cadiz 2010” on September 5, 2009 at the Don Bernardo L. Benedicto Community Center in Cadiz City, with the aim of making Cadiz the most vibrant City of the north.

“Star Ka Sa Cadiz” is a citywide search for local singing and dancing stars that will make Cadiz shine above. It is a weekly cultural and information presentation whose grand finals will coincide with the celebration of the annual Dinagsa Festival on January 30, 2010.

Contest categories include singing, hip-hop dance and name-a-song. Singing contest is open to all amateur singers residing in Cadiz City whose ages range from 15 to 35 years old; hip-hop dance is open to all groups of 5 to 8 members of 13 to 25 years old; and, the name-a-song is open to all residents of 15 to 35 years old.

Weekly and monthly winners of each category will receive P300, while the non-winners will get a consolation prize of P100 each. A talent scout will be given a cash incentive of P100 for every qualified entry/ contestant he tendered.

On the grand finals, the first placers for singing and name-a-song contests will romp away P3000 each; while the second and third placers will obtain P2000 and P1000 each respectively.

Hip-hop dance showdown, however, will take P5000, P3000 and P2000 for first, second and third placers, respectively.
