Cadiz ranks 3rd in Panaad ’09 Folk Dance Competition

The 12 members of the Philippine Normal University folk dancers that represented the City of Cadiz during the Panaad sa Negros Festival 2009 Folk Dance Competition, romped off third place in Maria Clara division last April 23 held at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City. They were the grand champion in 2008 Folk Dance contest in the same category.

Silay City garnered the first place and received P25,000 and a trophy. They also obtained the Best in Costume Award. Sagay City bagged the second place and brought home a cash prize of P20,000 and a trophy.

The Cadiz dance troupe, gracefully danced to the music of Polka Espanola, was trained by Dr. Randyll Villones, MDT choreographer and Artistic Director of the Philippine Normal University.
