Cadiz City Health Office and distinguished doctors in close cooperation of Barangay Zone 3 officials have conducted free circumcision to fifty four boys aging from 7 years old to 13 years old, recently.Four doctors composed of Hon. Dr. Patrick G. Escalante and Hon. Dr. Abiezer Bacomo, both Cadiz City councilors; Dr. Wilfredo Cayao, resident doctor at the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic; and former City Councilor Dr. Ramon T.Nemenzo performed the minor surgery for free.
Circumcision is a minor operation performed to a male person wherein the foreskin (prepuce) of male sex organ (male genitalia) is removed by means of surgery. This procedure is safe to male children of school age up to adulthood. Medical personnel conduct free screening to patients before scheduling them to surgery.
There were at least seventy five patients who approached for screening. Fifty four were admitted for surgery. Punong Barangay of Zone 3, host barangay, also distributed free medicines such as pain killers and antibiotics to circumcised patients./ *
