The City Government of Cadiz will observe its 43rd Charter Day Anniversary on July 1 – 4, with the theme “moving forward together”.
The 4-day activity kicks off on July 1, with a Thanksgiving Holy Mass and Flag Raising Program at 7AM, infront of the City Hall. Blessing and inauguration of the One-Stop Shop at Cabahug Street and Juvenile Center at PNP will also follow at 10AM.
The Cadiz Information Center at the corner of Cabahug – Abelarde Streets (Infront of SeaOil). will open at 9AM. It will serve as the drop-off center for all local and international tourists and guests, including media people who will be needing Cadiz profile and other press releases. The Center will also install a widescreen for a nightly audio-visual presentation which will run until July 4.
The Shoot Fest at PNP Target Rance, 9AM; an On-the-spot Editorial Writing Contest, 2PM, at the SP Session Hall, with around 50 student participants from different high schools within Cadiz City; and, the Invitational Lawn Tennis, 3PM, at the Cadiz Sports Center, will cap the day two.
The day three will be the blessing and inauguration of the multi-million Cadiz City Commercial Port at 9AM in Barangay Banquerohan, with Jetski and Banca Races at 10AM. At 3PM, the Balay Dalangpan in Zone 6 will also be blessed and inaugurated.
The Body Building Contest will start at 7PM at the Don Bernardo L. Benedicto Community Center in Cadiz City, while the street party with the Manila-based popular bands will fire up the ledge at 9PM, beside City Hall.
July 4, the day Cadiz was inaugurated as Charter City, will feature the ceremonial oath taking of newly-elected city officials at 9AM at the Don Bernardo L. Benedicto Community Center. It will also have the Regional New Face Taekwondo Championship at 2PM at the Cadiz City Multi-purpose Gym.
Float parade of participating barangays and other NGO’s will start at 2PM, around the City’s major streets. At 9PM, continuation of all-night-long street party with the country’s popular bands and fireworks display will highlight the Charter Day celebration./*
