Mayoralty candidate councilor Dr. Patrick Escalante and re-electionist vice mayor Samson Mirhan were proclaimed as winners by Comelec officer Atty. Revo Sorbito at SP session hall last May 11, 2010 the day after the automated local and national elections were conducted.

Dr. Patrick Escalante got 30,317 votes against former provincial board member Atty. Edgardo Acuña who obtained 25,672 votes. Incumbent vice mayor Samson “Jongben” Mirhan won by 28,997 votes against former city mayor Eduardo Varela’s 24,985 votes.

The winning councilors according to their rankings were also proclaimed by the Comelec. They were re-electionist Dr. Lilia Decolongon who garnered 28,897 votes; re-electionist Agustin Jesmar Desuyo, 27,046 votes; neophyte Wilfredo Cervantes, 25,694 votes; returnee councilor Sixto “Pal” Guanzon, 24,584 votes; re-electionist councilor Vicente William Tabanao, 23,677 votes; neophyte Marcelo Metuda, 21,940 votes; re-electionist Dr. Abiezer Bacomo Sr., 20,805; re-electionist councilor Antonio Lacson III, 20,412; neophyte Denia Puey Hinolan, 19,690; and neophyte Juan Musa Jr., 18,960 votes.

Mayor Salvador Escalante and Dr. Miller Serondo who run for provincial board members unopposed got total votes of 31,408 and 20, respectively.

Dr. Patrick, vice mayor Mirhan and the winning councilors of the working team thanked the people of Cadiz for their overwhelming trust and continued support./*
