City Mayor Patrick Escalante together with the local officials spearheaded the culmination of the Civil Service Month Celebration participated by more than 700 permanent employees held at RC Beach Resort, Brgy. Daga, last September 24, 2010.

Mayor Escalante thanked all the department heads, city officials, and the Cadiz City Government Employees Union for their all out support and participation to the success of the civil service month culmination program.

This year’ celebration marks the 110th CSC Anniversary with a Theme “R.A.C.E. (Responsive, Accessible, Courteous and Effective Public Service) to serve.

Escalante opened the cheering contest, interpretative dance and parlor games with symbolic rites of releasing the balloons.

CCGEU President Brigida Manguino while the balloons are released said “as the balloons rise up higher in the sky we think of the aspirations, goals, ambitions, and renewed hope. Let us all aim high… for excellent performance as civil servants, for God’s power to fill us so we can do great things, for a responsive and accessible service providers to our community, for a team who works hand in hand and for a society of government workers with high morale.”

On the other hand, out of nine participating teams, the City Administrator’s Office, City Legal Office and Market division (ALM) got the champion in the cheering competition. Atty. Michael Borromeo received cash prize of P4,000.00 and trophy. The City Health Office bagged the second place with P3,000.00 and trophy, third place was captured by the Sangguniang Panlungsod. The City Budget Office got the 4th place and the fifth place was taken by the City Treasurers Office and City Mayors Office. Third place to fifth place winners received cash prizes of P2,000, P1,500.00 and P500 each, respectively.

The City Assessor’s Office was adjudged as the Model Office of the year followed by the City Budget Office and the City Administrator’s Office. Rosemarie Alicante from the CHO team awarded as the Best Cheerleader of the Year. Interpretative dance winners were City Health Office, first place, and the Accounting Office, second place.

Members of the board of judges in cheering contest were Rex Lacson, PE Teacher and choreographer; Josephine Basico, English teacher of HIA; and Romeo Pantaleon, principal of Villacin National High School. While judges for the Interpretative dance were Runa Barbas, teacher from SPED training center; Rex Lacson; and Councilor Denia Puey Hinolan.

Masters of the ceremony were Jerry Artuyo, PIO CCGEU; and Mary Ann Sancho, CCGEU Board of Director./*
