Ma. Cristina Fuentes of Silay City was recently appointed as the new OIC-City Treasurer of Cadiz City. She assumed her post after the former city treasurer Feligande Delina retired from service last October, 2009.


She graduated her elementary education at Silay South Elementary School and secondary education at Silay Institute, as a consistent Class Valedictorian.


The new city treasurer is a graduate of the University of St. La Salle, class of 1983. A national state scholar, she was taking up BS in Accountancy.


She completed her academic requirements in Masters in Public Administration major in Local Government Administration and a grantee of the Canadian International Development Agency and the Local Government Scholarship Program.


Miss Fuentes, 47, has been working at the City Mayor’s Office of Silay City as Senior Clerk in 1986-87; Management & Audit Chief in 1987 -1989; Management and Audit Analyst IV at the City Accountant’s Office from 1989-2005. She became an acting Assistant City Treasurer in Silay City Treasurer’s Office from 2005 to 2006. She was appointed as (OIC) City Treasurer on November of 2006 to 2007 and eventually became the City Treasurer in 2007-2009.


Ma. Cristina Fuentes, born on June 26, 1962, is married to Ramonito Fuentes, also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). They were blessed with three children, Anica Mae, medical representative; Kristyl, 4th year college taking up BS in Electronic Communications Engineering (ECE) at USLS; and Benedict, 2nd year High School at Don Bosco Technical Institute in Victorias City./*
