Atty. Revo E. Sorbito, Election Officer of COMELEC in Cadiz City reported a total of 82,695 voters registered in Cadiz as of December 2009 from its 22 barangays.

Out of 494 established precincts, the city has 107 clustered precincts and total of 42 polling centers.

The top five barangays with the largest registered voters are Barangay Daga with 7,271; Luna, 5,902; Tinampaan 5,833; Caduhaan, 5,444 and Brgy. Zone 2 with 5,669 voters.

The following are the list of barangays with their respective registered voters. Brgy. Tiglawigan- 4,022; Zone 1- 4,085; Zone 4 – 4,648 ;Zone 6 – 4,026; Cabahug- 4,049; Mabini -4,748; Magsaysay- 3,148; Zone 3- 3,261; Banquerohan- 3,940; Sicaba-2,767; Jerusalem- 2,176; Cadiz Viejo – 2,890; Burgos- 2,561; Andres Bonifacio -2,803; V.F. Gustilo -1,083; Celestino Villacin- 1,4856; Zone 5- 911 registered voters.

On the other hand, there are twenty two (22) candidates who filed their certificate of candidacy for councilors, three candidates for mayoralty and two for vice mayor.

Re-electionist councilors are Dr. Abiezer Bacomo, Vicente William Tabanao, Dr. Lilia Decolongon, Roy Vijandre, Antonio Lacson III, Sofia Prado, Angel Joseph Consing and Jesmar Desuyo. Other candidates for councilors are Wilfredo Cervantes, Pal Guanzon ,Jun Musa, Bamboo Puey Hinolan, Atty. Fernan Briones, Teodoro Delos Santos, Jimmy Delos Santos, Atty. Corazon Diploma, Enrique Lamoste,Jr., Jocelyn Magbanua, Marcelo Metuda, Dante Ramos, Romulo Revalez and Miguel “Mike” Ybanez.

Mayoralty candidates are Dr. Patrick Escalante, Manuel Garganera and Atty. Edgardo Acuña while re-electionist Samson “Jongben” Mirhan and Edgardo Varela are two contenders for vice mayor./*
